
Mr. Frazier was born June 2, 1932 to Lon and Pauline Frazier, who preceded him in death as did a daughter, Frances Frazier. Bob grew up in Rome, attended Elm Street School and graduated from Boys High School. He was a football standout as a running back for the Rome High Hilltoppers receiving many honors for four years there, then on to Darlington as a post graduate student playing superb football there.
He then entered and graduated from Auburn University and served in the Army for the next two years in Tokyo, Japan, and during those years married his high school sweetheart, Betty Bryson. She joined him in Tokyo for the remainder of his service there. Bob continued his education at Coosa Valley Technical School while employed by V. E. Anderson. He finished his working career at Image Carpets with his good friend Kelly Hudson.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, to whom he was married in April, 1954; a daughter, Elizabeth; two sons, Marc (Lisa) and Bob; a sister, Doris Goodwin; two granddaughters, Jordan (Jeremy) Shuler and Christine Frazier; grandsons, Bryson Frazier, Blake Frazier, Marc (Jacqueline) Webber and Heath Ellison; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Shuler and Jacob Shuler; and nieces , nephews and cousins.
The funeral was held Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 5 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church. The Rev. Bob Skelton and Dr. Dale Levan officiated. The family received friends at the church from 4 until 5 p.m. There was a private family memorial interment.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to the Frances Frazier Music Scholarship at Shorter University, 315 Shorter Ave., Rome, GA 30165 or Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund, 314 Burnett Ferry Rd., Rome, GA 30165.
