Mrs. Allen was born in Rome on November 18, 1923, and grew up in Rome. She traveled with her family for many years with the military until her husband’s retirement, at which time she relocated to Rome.
Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late Dewey and Bertha Wilkerson of Rome. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Millard Allen and her sister, Rachael Harper.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her son, Ray Allen (Barbara); her grandson, Courtney Allen (Melissa); her sister, Joan Angle; three great grandchildren, Kiaja Allen, Nazeriah Allen and Chayton Allen; three nieces, Pan Pendergraf, Penny Immil and Rebecca Angle.
Viewing and visitation was held Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Daniel’s Funeral Home from 2 until 2:45. A graveside service followed at 3 p.m. Saturday at the East View Cemetery.
Daniel’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
