Dean W. Wood

Mrs. Wood was born in Polk Co., GA, on March 7, 1922, the daughter of the late Roy and Mattie Mae Lasiter Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Partee Wood, by a brother, Edward R. Wilson, and a sister, Louise Mitchell.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law Will & Emily Wood, Rome; two grandsons, Brice Wood and Brandon Wood and his wife, Rebekah; one great grandson, Aaron Blake Wood; a brother, Billy J. Wilson of Hinesville, GA, and a sister, Elizabeth Stroud of Rome; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Before her retirement she was associated with the Celanese Corporation and RomeSpun Inc. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Rome.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Daniels Funeral Home at other hours the family will be at the home of her son at 204 Hood Drive, Rome, GA.

The funeral service is Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Bridges and the Rev. Jimmy Van Winkle officiating. Interment will follow at East View Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Rick Walker, Billy Wilson, Jr. and Terry Stroud.
