
Mr. Fryer was born May 16, 1919 in Blakely, GA, son of Edward Louis Fryer, Jr., and Mayme Binion Fryer. He is survived by his wife, Lollie Ernestine Wansley Fryer, a daughter, Elizabeth McCarter Fryer Taylor and son-in-law, Ansel McCoy Taylor, Jr., of Cumming; three grandsons, Benjamin McCoy Taylor, James McCarter Taylor and John Conley Taylor, of Cumming; and nieces and nephews. A son, Edward Louis Fryer IV, died in 2001.
Mr. Fryer attended Darlington School in Rome and Emory at Oxford. He served in the U. S. Army with four years in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Fryer was a Certified Life Underwriter and District Agent for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 80 years, and former chairman of the Board of Stewards and treasurer.
Mr. Fryer was a member and past president of the Rome Rotary Club, the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Life Underwriters and a Boy Scout Leader.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jane Newman Brooks, Senior Pastor, officiating. A private interment will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.
