
Mr. Fowler was born in Floyd Co., on September 3, 1944, the son of the late Jethro Fowler and Marie Moore Fowler.
Mr. Fowler was a 1964 graduate of East Rome High School where he was captain of the football team and All-State lineman. He had been employed with the Georgia Department of Transportation as maintenance foreman in Floyd County for many years prior to retirement. He received numerous awards during that time including one for his idea to plant wildflowers in the medians along the highways in the State of Georgia.
Survivors include one brother, Harold Fowler, and his wife, Joyce, Acworth; nephew, Greg Fowler, and his wife, Carol, Savannah, and niece, Pam Bonner, and her husband, Kenny, Acworth; great nieces and nephews, Heath Bonner and his wife, Elysia , Kimberly Clendenin and her husband, Michael, and Christopher and Harrison Fowler; and great, great nieces, Ella Clendenin and Averi Lakocinski.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 24, 2011, at 3 p.m. the graveside in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Big Texas Valley Rd., with the Rev. Scott Lambert officiating

The family received friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home on Saturday, April 23, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m.
