Mrs. White was born July 17, 1948, in Canton, China; daughter of the late Dr. Samuel G. and Miriam Rankin, and grew up in Bamberg, SC and Hong Kong, where she was a student at Kowloon Junior School and King George V School. She was a graduate of Carson-Newman College (B.Sc., 1969)
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard Lee White; and their beloved daughter, Alice Elizabeth White, of Armuchee, GA.
In addition, she is survived by her sister, Margaret Rankin Downie and husband John Joseph Downie, Jr. of Bogart, GA; her brother, Samuel Edward Rankin of Athens, GA; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
