

James (JB) Bernard Bogue, Jr., (73) passed away on February 15th, 2024, at his beloved Moondance Farm in Kingston Georgia. JB was the only child of Doris (Berry) Bogue and James Bogue Sr., of Decatur, Alabama.
JB was a Decatur High School Red Raider football player. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB). He was one of the first OJT Perfusionists at the Cardiovascular Department of UAB. He moved to Rome in 1986 to join a new open-heart surgical program at Harbin Clinic.
He and his wife, Ginger, established Moondance Farms in Kingston, Georgia in 1995 and began their dream of caring for unwanted dogs and people in need during recovery. After leaving the Harbin Clinic, JB dedicated his life to his beloved farm, his horses, rescued dogs, son Don Bogue and his favorite role as “Big Daddy” to his beloved granddaughter Bella Bogue and grandson Landon Bogue.
JB was preceded in death by his mother Doris and his father James B. Bogue, Sr. He is survived by his former wife Ginger Bogue, only child Don Bogue (Nicole Bogue), his granddaughter Bella Bogue, and grandson Landon Bogue.
JB loved connecting with nature, animals, family, all things Auburn, and his many diverse friends all over the country. He had a passion for homeless dogs and became a personal shelter for many special dogs over his lifetime. His dogs were the love of his life.
The family will host a Celebration of Life gathering to remember JB and his loved ones on Saturday, March 9th, from 4pm – 7pm at his home 3565 Wayside Rd. Kingston, GA 30145.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite animal shelter for the spay and neuter or for veterinary care of unwanted animals in memory of JB.
