After graduating from East Rome High School and serving a stint in the Navy, he spent his life as a member of the Glenwood Community. His young adult years were spent as a youth athletic coach. He loved the fields and gyms. Jim took time to touch the lives of so many young people through baseball, football, basketball and wrestling. He never missed an event at which his children or grandchildren participated. Jim never said “no” to a request for help.
An industrial electrician by trade, he worked many years at Trend Mills, worked the hydro-electric project at Rocky Mountain and retired from Shaw Industries. Few loved work as much as Jim, but no one enjoyed retirement more than Jim. Pop will be remembered as a loving husband and caregiver to his wife of more than 35 years, a supportive father to his sons and daughter and a wonderful friend too many. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Skelton Moore; his parents, Robert L. “Bob” Moore, Sr. and Cotye Duggan Moore and his sister, Hariette Moore Wood who resided in Guntersville, Alabama.
