Mrs. Turner was born in Rome, GA. October 12, 1919. She was the daughter of the late William Mason Camp and Della Hill Camp. She was also preceded in death by her husband Wesley Troupe Turner, a son; Charles Jerry Turner, a sister; Lillian Momon, and three brothers Ira, Joseph and Jack Camp.
Mrs. Turner was a native of Floyd County. She was one of the first volunteers of the Heyman Hospice group and served them for many years.
Survivors include a daughter; Joyce Hawkins (Harold) of Armuchee, three grandchildren; Shon Massey of Armuchee, Gary Turner of South Carolina, Kaycee Davis of South Carolina, Christy Corbin (Jeff) of Armuchee, and Grant Hawkins of Atlanta. Nine great grandchildren survive, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family received friends Thursday July 16, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Daniel’s Funeral Home. A graveside service was then held at 11 a.m. following the visitation at East View Cemetery with Rev. Monty Stallins officiating.
