Mrs. Wallis was born on January 16, 1923, in Rolla, North Dakota, and was the daughter of the late Charles M. Cupp and Etta M. Anderson Cupp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George P. Wallis, on July 3, 2006.
Mrs. Wallis was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Chancel Choir for over 30 years. She was a graduate of the University of North Dakota and served as a Red Cross volunteer and Board Member. She also was a member of the Rome Junior Service League and volunteered with the Rome Symphony Orchestra.
Survivors include a son, Timothy R. Wallis, and his wife, CeCe, of Rome; and three grandchildren, Patrick, Sanders and Margot-Catherine Wallis.
A private graveside service will be held Friday, August 12, 2011, at the Myrtle Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jane Newman Brooks officiating.
