

Mrs. Brock was born in Atlanta on January 19, 1932, the daughter of the late Arthur B. Edge, Sr., and Thelma Ewing Edge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur B. Edge, Jr.
Mrs. Brock graduated from Bass High School in Atlanta and attended Shorter College. She was active in the Rome Little Theater for many years and was a member of the Rome Area Writers’ Group. She wrote numerous short stories and poems and published a novel, “The House on Hawks’ Hill,” in 2012. She was a frequent contributor to the Lavender Mountain Anthology which is published on a yearly basis and the Maui Writers' Anthologies. She won the Southeastern Writers' Conference First Place Fiction Award on two occasions. She served as vice-president of Eddie Rents from 1971-2008. Mrs. Brock was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rome, the Coosa Country Club and was active with the Junior Service League Follies in the 1950s and 1960s

Survivors include her husband of almost 65 years, Edward L. Brock, Sr., to whom she was married in April, 1950; two sons, Edward L. Brock, Jr., (Harriett), Rome, and William Edge Brock (Lou), Houston, TX; four daughters, Carolyn Buchanan (Jerry), Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Sue Lane (Gary), Jacksonville Beach, FL, Betsy Smith (Eric), Columbia, MD, and Leigh Barba (Piero), Rome; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 3 p.m. at the chapel of the First Baptist Church with Dr. Joel Snider officiating. Entombment will be in the Myrtle Hill Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends in the Dining Room of the First Baptist Church from 2 until 3 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
