Mildred S. Hill

Mrs Hill was born in Floyd County on Sept. 17, 1921, the daughter of the late Charles Edward Schram and Hannah Melinda Jane Reed Schram. She ws also preceded in death by a granddaufhter, Bethany Evelyn Oschack; four brothers, C. Victor Shcram, Arville E. Schram, Harry A. Schram and Charles Edward Schram, Jr.; four sisters, Nevielle Shcram Underwood, Opal Schram Hall, Valeria Schram Meroney and Evelyn Schram Gillespie; a niece, Jane Gillespie; and three nephews, Ray Underwood Jr., Audley H. Meroney, and Douglas Shram.

Mrs. Hill was a retired electrologist. She was a long time member of Callier Springs Country Club Gold Association, a charter member of Green Thumb Garden Club, a member of Georgia Power Ambassadors and a member of Sherwood Forest Baptist Church. Mrs. Hill was very active in the schools, was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader.

Survivors include her husband, D. B. Hill to whom she was married on June 7, 1971; two sons, Andy Oschack, and his wife Mary, of Birmingham, AL and Charles Oschack and his wife, Jerolee, of Athens, GA; a daughter, Harriett Oschack Blaylock, and her husband, Steve, of Rome; seven grandchildren, Eric Blaylock (Caroline), Bobby Oschack (Kelly), Aggie Blaylock, Beth Tarter (Bob), Alex Hill, Brayton Oschack and Clifton Oschack; and four great-grandchildren, Jackson Blaylock, Casey Oschack, Stiles Blaylock and Adam Oschack; and her beloved dog, Zaxby.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hill were held 2 PM on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the Thomas B. Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with Dr. Talmadge Barnes officiating. Interment followed in Floyd Memory Gardens. The family received friends on Friday, May 7, 2010 at the funeral home.
