

Phillip M. Runyon, age 72, of Rome, GA. passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 27, 2021. He was born January 23, 1949 in Breese, Illinois. He was the son of the late John and Mabel (nee McCracken) Runyon. He married Connie Sudholt on June 23, 1973, later divorced. He married Gloria Flowers on November 23, 1990.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death in death by his siblings, Goldie Louise Runyon, John (Mary) Runyon, Frank (Marcella) Runyon, David (Norma) Runyon, Mary (Charlie) Foster, Opal (Jay) Smith; brother-in-laws, Roy Voyles, George Rollins, George Vinson; sister-in-law, Mary B. Runyon.
Phil is survived by his daughters, Tonya (Special friend Chris Mueller) Runyon of Beckemeyer, Illinois, Stacy (Tony) Halbrook of Trenton, Illinois; step children, Lonnie Mitchell of Orlando, Florida, Lucinda (Patrick) Slaughter of Locust Grove, Georgia; grandchildren, Kandas (fiance’ Nick Ottensmeier) Runyon, Destiny Wempe (special friend John Linafelder) and Lauren Halbrook. Also surviving are sisters, Ema Jean Voyles of Rome, Georgia, Athlen Vinson of Rockmart, Georgia, Phyllis Rollins of Acworth, Georgia and brother, Cecil Runyon of Dalton, Georgia, and nieces and nephews.
Phil retired from Profile Industries as a welder. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, washers and the drums with his nephews. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons, and loved spending time with his family. A Visitation and memorial service will be held at Daniel’s Funeral Home on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
