Richard Gerold Jenson passed away the morning of Friday, May 27th, 2022 at his home in Rome, GA at the age of 76. Richard was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 8, 1945, the eldest of two brothers. In early adulthood, he joined the US Navy as a trombonist and sailed with them for 4 years. In 1971, he retired from the Navy and went into social work for the remainder of his career. Over the course of his life, Richard became a member of the Baha’i faith and was involved for a time with the Animal Rescue Foundation. He enjoyed quiet days sitting with his dogs, doing word searches, watching the birds, and playing the odd game of Spades. He is survived by his wife, Kathaleen Torres and his brother, Paul James Jenson as well as his three children from his first wife, Steven Richard Jenson, Sara Carmel Nasworthy, and Sharon Rose Jenson.
A visitation for Richard will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Daniel's Funeral Home, 901 E. 2nd Ave SW, Rome, Georgia 30161. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Floyd Memory Gardens, Cartersville Hwy, Rome, GA 30161.
