Richard Christopher Welles

Richard was born on July 13, 1949 in Winstead, CT to Archie E. and Beatrice L. Welles.

The family received friends Sunday, January 1, 2017 from 5 until 7:00 pm at Daniel's Funeral Home.

Richard lay in state Monday morning January 2, 2017 from 10 until 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3300 Garden Lakes Parkway, Rome, GA. 30165. A funeral service followed in the chapel of the church at 11 a.m. with Bishop Filetti of the Rome Ward conducting.

Interment then followed at the West Hill Cemetery, Trion, GA. The Shanklin- Attaway Post #5 of the American Legion, Rome, will render military rites.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ann (Maxwell) Welles; children, Jon C. Welles of Stockbridge, GA, Tammie M. Blackmon (Donnie) of Trion, GA, Sharon E. Watson (David) of Ringold, GA, James Allen Welles of Menlo, GA, Bryan C. Welles (Mischa) of Temecula, CA, Aaron J. Welles (Bielka) of East Greenwich, RI, Heather M. Welles (Fiance-Nakia) of Lafayette, GA and Richard T. Welles (Nancy) of Trion, GA. ; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Richard is also survived by his brothers, Gene Welles (Carol) of Cheshire, CT and Roger Welles (Gretchen) of Hosford, FL.
