

Shirley E. Boswell, 90, formerly of 205 Oakwood St., passed away Wednesday morning, January 19, 2011, at the residence of her daughter.
Mrs. Boswell was born in Rome on December 31, 1920, the daughter of the late Bert Eisenlord and Gladys Belle Corley Eisenlord Lanham. She was married to Leonard Lee Boswell on August 31, 1939, and preceded in death by him on May 25, 1990. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Carter, on June 7, 1988.
Mrs. Boswell was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was the director of the nursery and children’s ministries for many years. She also owned her own drapery business for years and was a talented decorator. She devoted her life to serving Christ by showering those around her with love and kindness.
Survivors include one son, Ernie Jeffrey Boswell, Rome; one daughter, Nancy Lee (Donald) Bell, Rome; four grandchildren, Stacy Cates, Rome, Lora Lee Bell, Smyrna, Dee Anna (Champ) Rittenhouse, Atlanta, and Julie (Luke) Elrod, Smyrna; and four great grandchildren, William Matteson Cates, Anna Grace Rittenhouse, Lucy Belle Elrod and Jesse Luke Elrod.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Dr. Frank Wood officiating. Interment will be in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Dr. Steve Andrews officiating. Mrs. Boswell will lie in state at the church from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Luke Elrod, Champ Rittenhouse, Clyde Collier, Randy Nobles, Bobbie K. McKenzie and Will Cates. Honorary pallbearers will be her caregivers, Lois Johnson, Geraldine Rook, Carolyn Barton, Ollie Whatley, Sandra Davidson, Shirley Callahan and Carie Brownlow.
The family will receive friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home on Friday, January 21, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m., and at other hours at the residence of the daughter, Nancy Bell, 23 Stonebrook Dr.
