

Mrs. Rausch was born on July 29, 1925 in Prattville, AL, to Mae Walters Kilpatrick and Jeptha Reavie Kilpatrick, and lived there until her marriage in 1947 to Henry Rausch, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1996. After their marriage, they lived in Long Island, NY, Norwalk, CT, Charlotte, NC, and then moved to Rome in 1973 where they lived a very happy life among great friends. She was a member of Rome First United Methodist Church where she enjoyed Adult Fellowship and their fun lunches afterwards with her friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Bette Rausch Holoman and husband Henry Franklin Holoman, Jr. of Roswell, GA, Kathryn Rausch of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Christopher Holoman of Atlanta, GA, Amy Holoman of Alpharetta, GA and Jennifer Cornell of Raleigh, NC.; sister, Virginia Murrell of Sabinal, TX; Brother, James Kilpatrick and wife Ruby Kilpatrick of Prattville, AL, and many loving cousins including Mabel Campbell of Atlanta, GA, her cousin and close friend. Her brother, Cecil Kilpatrick preceded her in death in 2006.
She enjoyed great friendships with many Rome residents over the past 38 years. Her love of decorating lead her to a career as a design consultant for over 25 years at Wyatt’s where she not only enjoyed being a decorator, but loved meeting all the people from Rome who came to shop.
A memorial service celebrating Thelma’s wonderful 86 years will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniels at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Chris Barbieri officiating. The family will receive friends at Daniel’s on Saturday from 3 until 4 p.m. prior to the service.
