

The family of Jessie Kemppainen announces her passing on Saturday July 5, 2014 at the age of 97 years. Jessie was born to William & Ethel Holmes of Madison Saskatchewan. She was the first girl born in the then new hospital in Eston Saskatchewan. She attended school in the rural district of Amdewanda north of Madison. As a young woman she worked as a house keeper for several famers and then married Frank Talbot in 1945. They had three children Arthur, Richard and Francis. Frank passed away in 1954. Jessie remarried in 1955 to Sulo Kemppainen and two more sons were born. Einar in 1956 and Wayne in 1958. Sulo and Jessie farmed in Eston and Lucky Lake until 1964 when they moved to Lucky Lake permanently. She remained there until her passing. Jessie loved to garden. Flowers were her favorite but she always had a large vegetable garden as well. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress, knitter and crocheter. She didn’t have a lot of Spare time. Jessie is predeceased by her first husband Frank Talots and second husband Sulo Kemppainen, sons Richard and Wayne. She is survived by her sons Art (Dorothy) Talbot of Tees Alberta, Fran Talbot of Lucky Lake Saskatchewan, Einar (Grace) Kemppainen of Outlook Saskatchewan. Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Thursday July 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Lucky Lake United Church with Rev. Michelle Armstrong officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Lucky Lake United Church.
