

Alfred “Al” Wharton was born in Ohio on Nov 2nd 1943 to parents Alfred and Olga. Al grew up in Napa California, where he graduated from high school and met his wife, Michele. Al, attended college at Utah State and graduated from CSU Sacramento. Al was also an Air Force veteran, UPS employee (26 years), owner of a custom built golf club business (Wharton Golf Inc) and member of the Placer County Grand Jury. In his free time, Al loved to golf and was the treasurer of the Men’s Club at Indian Creek Golf Club. He also enjoyed helping his son, Geoff with winemaking and many trips to Hawaii with Michele where he loved relaxing on the veranda with a good book and a glass of Chardonnay.
Al and Michele were married for 47 years and have one son, Geoffrey. Al and Michele lived in Penryn, California for many years. He is also survived by father (Alfred), step mother (Mary), step brother (Skip), sister (Pam), brother (Scott) and daughter in law (Rhonda).
There will be no formal service for Al, per his wishes. But the family hopes that you will remember him in a way that is meaningful to you. He touched the lives of many people over his 67 years and he will be missed.
