How do you sum up a story that was only beginning to unfold? Benjamin David Gordon was born on August 9, 1997, in Sacramento, California, to Nancy and Curtis Gordon. He passed away on November 25, 2025, in Roseville, California, at the age of 28.
His early years began in Davis, California, where he spent his childhood and high school days. He attended Foxboro Elementary School in Vacaville, where his mother worked, Davis Waldorf, and Da Vinci Jr High. He graduated from Da Vinci High School in 2016. He attended one year at Sacramento City College.
In 2017, the family moved from Davis to the Woodlake area to help in the family businesses and care for grandparents. Ben moved in with his paternal grandparents in Visalia, California. He got his first job at Jack and Jeff’s Transfer and Storage, then worked for Target, and later worked as a sleep study technician for Modern Medicine.
It was in 2022 that Ben made the brave decision to return to the Sacramento region. He moved without a job or a place to live. He worked briefly at Nugget Market and was then hired as a City Carrier Assistant at the United States Postal Service in Roseville. He stuck out this initial position despite the early mishaps of plantar fasciitis, an eye injury, and rounds of rabies shots after a dog bite. He was rewarded with a permanent position as a full-time mail carrier early in 2025.
Ben had many interests and was curious by nature. He was fearless when it came to repairing his own cars and motorcycles. This led to replacing parts just to improve performance. He liked riding and driving, and this was his motivation for learning work on his vehicles.
He had a strong sense of justice, which made him interested in politics. He wanted to affect change in the world. “It’s all about fighting the war in the minds of others.” Ben was tender hearted, kind, compassionate, caring, and a little bit stubborn.
After moving back to Northern California, Ben seemed to be coming into his own. He connected with old friends and made new ones. He was establishing himself in a career. Ben spent his time with the people he cared about and involved himself in activities that brought him joy. He was just starting to blossom in his adulthood and find a direction in his life.
He will be forever remembered by his parents Curtis and Nancy Gordon, his Grandmother Patricia Gordon, numerous family members, friends and colleagues as someone who brought light, life, and humor wherever he went.
A memorial service will be held at Lambert Funeral Home, located at 400 Douglas Blvd, Roseville, CA, 95678, United States. The service is scheduled for December 7, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
