Connie Sue Bearden

Born on June 26, 1944 in Oakland, CA, as Constance Sue Woolslayer, she went by Susan as a child. She grew up in Richmond, CA, the youngest child of Lila Leggett and Lawrence Woolslayer.

At 18, while cruising with her friend, she met her future husband, Jerry Bearden. They married in 1964. Daughter Lynn was born in 1966, and son Craig was born in 1968. Connie & Jerry made a home for their family in Pinole, CA. Jerry worked for Pac Bell, and Connie was a homemaker. They moved to Granite Bay, CA in 1976, where Jerry built the home that they lived in for the rest of their lives.

Connie was a talented seamstress, sewing most of Lynn & Craig's childhood clothes. She was crafty, doing needlepoint projects while her husband Jerry did macrame. She painted ceramics, made metal garden sculptures using welding equipment & plasma cutters, and enjoyed making handmade greeting cards.

As Lynn & Craig got older, Connie had a daycare at home, lovingly taking care of the neighborhood children. After she retired, she volunteered at the local blood center, enjoyed attending a Bible study for many years, helped out a few friends at their businesses, and was a Holy Duster at Mount St. Joseph Seminary.

Connie & Jerry loved to take trips in their trailer, often visiting the Redwoods & Bodega Bay. When a ski boat joined the toys, many fond memories were had up at Ice House Reservoir near Pollock Pines.

After Jerry died, Connie still loved traveling. She went on trips from Oregon to New Orleans to the East Coast with a travel group, making new and lasting relationships with many travel buddies.

Connie is preceded in death by her son Craig, husband Jerry, and granddaughter Cassidy. She is survived by daughter Lynn Charton (husband Jacques Charton), grandson Janny Munson, and step grandchildren Jacqui Murray, Louis Charton, and KT Brinsko
