Denise Ann O'Neill

Denise O’Neill passed away peacefully with her family at her side on June 16, 2023. Denise was born in Minnetonka, Minnesota moving with her family at the age of four to Carmichael, California. Denise graduated from Del Campo High School in 1973 and attended MTI College before starting a 34-year civil service career. Denise finished her career after serving the last 15 years working for the California Department of Education, retiring in 2009.

Denise married William (Bill) O’Neill in October 1978 after a whirlwind romance that began a 45-year partnership filled with love and many wonderful memories. Denise and Bill settled in Roseville, California, and raised two beautiful and loving daughters. Throughout her life, Denise enjoyed her career, traveling, and gardening, but most of all, she cherished her family and friends and maintained a home filled with love where all were welcome.

Denise, who was predeceased by her parents George E. and Betty L. Dyer, is survived by her husband Bill; their two daughters and their husbands, Tamie and Joe Thompson and Krista and Sean Whisler; three grandchildren, Rylan Thompson and Cora and Lucas Whisler; sister Barbara Green; and many extended family members and friends. Denise will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched and were the beneficiaries of her gentle grace.

A celebration of life will be held at Denise and Bill’s home in Roseville, California, on Saturday, July 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a charitable contribution may be made to the Placer County SPCA, at 200 Tahoe Avenue, Roseville, California 95678.
