I miss having the opportunity to make Fabian laugh.

He always had a low humor threshold and I could make him laugh with a real belly laugh.  It was fun seeing him laugh and that made me laugh.



I miss talking to you, laughing with you and being with you.

I’ve worked with Fabian for nearly 12 years at AT&T.  After he retired, we met occasionally to play golf.  Fabian was the one who introduced me to the game in 2001.  He had me use one of his old golf club set to play one weekend to see if I like to play the game.  I was hooked up to the game and we easily connected at work and after work.
Fabian is one of most unique person I’ve acquainted with, a very special friend.  He was a gregarious person, very friendly, helpful and over the years that I’ve known him, I never heard him talk or say anything negative about other people. There were times that he would call me at night for advice on spiritual issues and we talk lengthily about it.  I was overjoyed when he called me one evening to inform me that he was attending a church again.  I believe that, that was the start of his growth in his spiritual journey with the Lord Jesus Christ!

I would always remember him for his love of his family that he often mentions every time we see each other, and of course, his passion to play the game of golf. 

To the Espinoza Family..Brenda, Marc, and Matt..and family:

When I heard the news of Fabian sickness I got a hold of Brenda and he had just passed that morning at 1am. I couldn’t believe it at first because we had just found out. Brenda’s writing to me was very calm and loving but the long illness was over..Fabian was out of pain and illness thankfully and heading home and she was happy. 

We,, The Evanchak's used to live across the street from the Espinoza’s some many years ago..but we would run into each other time and time again. They were great neighbors and our husbands could be heard laughing across the street. Fabian always had a smile on his face. He seemed very content with life. I guess he was a golfer..so we know what he’s doing right now..free of Cancer!! 

Rest In Peace  Fabian Espinoza…you were a great husband, father, and provider. You will be missed!!

I first met Fabian in 1971 when I started dating his youngest sister.  He became my brother-in-law about 4 years later.

Fabian was one of the most jovial guys I ever knew.  Seemed like he was able to always find something to be happy about in just about any situation.  Once I knew this, I looked forward to making him aware of humorous situations, just to see him laugh.  One time, he was laughing so hard that it brought him to tears.  I really enjoyed that part of him.

But there was another side to Fabian that I appreciate even more.  Before he got sick, we had several conversations about this life, and what happens when this life ends.  He convinced me that he was certain of this: Fabian Espinoza was far from being good enough to warrant eternal life with God.  But God, in His infinite, unbounded and unearned goodness, extended mercy, love and grace to Fabian, took all his sins, put them on Jesus Christ, His Son, and imputed His righteousness by grace thru faith to Fabian's account.  And Fabian believed that even though he was undeserving, he would live eternally with God because of His righteousness.

So, for all that believe that, there is no "good bye", but rather "see ya later".

We have very fun memories with Fabian. He was with us at our grandsons football games . He played for Roseville Hi-School. Plus He,Brenda, & Shannon took me to see “The Wiz” one of my favorite memories of all times! You my friend was one of the good ones. Love 💕 

I suppose my fondest memories of Fabian are the ones of the last couple of weeks. Marc and I reassured him that he had done a wonderful job of  taking care of everything he could in advance.  He was leaving us with the support of  loving friends and family.  Finances were all in order. Most importantly we were each  on our own personal spiritual  journey with the LORD.
In his last weeks the cane, the Walker, the lift chair  were all replaced with comfort meds, hospital bed and Hospice  care. The transition was quite difficult but talking through it made it bearable
Marc moved back home temporarily.  Heidi was there as much as she could be. Together we cared for him.  That is what he wanted. 
We kept life as normal as possible
We played 60's and 70's music that he loved. We put the news on each day. We played the golf channel.  We included him in on everything we were doing with conversation  and touch.
Like:"we're ordering pizza,  no artichokes on yours right?"
"Hey its coffee time
 Want some?...oh you won't like it
 Marc made it. Too strong !"
"Pecan (our min pin dog) wants to see you. She misses you playing with her. "
"Do you remember the time..... "  we reviewed lots of old memories 
"Hey Fabian,  you want STARBUCKS?  Mocha Frapp or Soy vanilla latte."
And the last week....
"Relax and let go. You are going to a much better place. We will be fine
Please don't fight it. Don't be stubborn. It's time. Trust God. It's ok for you to go now" "You know Fabian, St Peter is outside those pearly gates slapping his putter on the ground.  He's waiting for you  so he can get a good t-time."
"You have friends and family waiting to greet you. " We kept talking to him because we knew he could hear us. Sometimes tears would fall down his cheek  or his facial expression would change slightly. He had his way of letting us know that a part of him was still hearing,  feeling, and appreciative . Yes those last memories are my fondest.

My dear brother, we played football together with all the neighborhood kids right on the street. We both thought our baby sister was spoiled rotten and we got the shaft.  We both snarled at her, well at least I did. But as we grew up we all came together. At first I thought your jokes that you laughed so hard at were corney. But again as I got older I laughed at them just as you did.  I will miss our lunch dates and how we laughed at ourselves. You will be truly missed.

BUSTED!!!  This has got to be my favorite picture of me and dad.  He caught me misbehaving back in high school, probably drinking, smoking or both.  He wasn't much for lecturing, but check out the ear-to-ear grin on dad's face.  That says it all.  And mom marked the occasion by snapping this moment.  Dad, being the great person he was, opted to forego a traditional parental punishment and instead, he took the next day off work to spend time with me.  Although I wasn't an adult at the time, dad treated me like one.  I've always respected dad and will miss the ol' boy forever.  Love ya dad...

My brother, Fabian, (we called him Jr.) was a great brother. He was a fun person to be around because he was always so jovial.  He was a character and was always laughing and making wise cracks!!  But not just silly, he was a kind and compassionate person and a person who loved God!!  I’m so thankful for that!!  I will miss him but look forward to the day we can be together again. 

We truly believe God brought Fabian into our lives to bless us because  of how we met.  One of the best parts of our friendship was our Saturday Menudo Therapy sessions.  Another was our attendance at High School football games, which I would have never thought to go to if Fabian had not invited me to join him .  While our friendship was way too short, it was very long on love and trust.  Oh, how I'm going to miss my best friend.  We both so look forward to seeing you in Heaven, Brother, and I'm sure there will be Menudo and maybe even football.  We love you so much, Fabian.  Ralph & Phyllis
