Alzheimer’s claimed the life of Gary on July 10, 2012 at home in Roseville. Born 69 years ago in Detroit, Gary left his home state for California to join the Navy and after his tour of duty, remained here the rest of his life, except for a couple of years in Phoenix, where he helped his dad care for his mom when she was struggling with Alzheimer’s. He leaves behind Nancy, his loving wife and caregiver until the end. Survived by daughter Deayn (Rockne) Boger, grandchildren Madison, Noah, and Holden, (all of San Francisco), brother Jim (Deana) Poe, sisters Jean Ray and Marleen Bush, many nieces and nephews, and aunt, all of Michigan, 2 nieces in Arizona, stepchildren Terry Bohm, Linda (Ron) Cervantes, step-grandchildren, Ashton and Katy, and brother-in-law Roger Willeford.
Because most of his family is out of state, there will be no services. Many thanks to Craig Cares and First Call Hospice who helped through this difficult time. Those who wish to remember Gary may do so through a remembrance in his name with the Alzheimer’s Aid Society, 2641 Cottage Way #4, Sacramento, CA 95825.
Gary and his wonderful smile will live in our hearts forever.
