

Gerald Victor Lind, 81 years old, of Rocklin, passed away on February 4, 2017 of natural causes. Gerald was born on September 26, 1935 in Santa Barbara, California alongside his twin sister Aileene to Boyd and Annabelle Lind. He was known as “Gerry” or “Lindy” by his friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his longtime partner Clair Nienow.
Gerry is survived by his three daughters, Jennifer Lind-Smith and her husband Fred, Julie Carew and her husband Chad and Amy Lind and her fiancé Brian Haynes. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Madalyn, Paige and Quentin; twin sister Aileene Hartley, her husband Mitch Hartley, nephew Donald Lee Nunes and family and his first wife Marsha Lind.
Gerry graduated from Roseville High School in 1954. He attended Sierra College in Auburn and graduated from Sacramento State University. He was an Army veteran and retired from Placer Title Company in Auburn. Gerry was an avid golfer, softball player and Chili Champion. He won many International Chili Society cook-offs and qualified for 9 World Chili Cook-offs.
He will be dearly missed by all. Celebration of life service will be held at Lambert Funeral Home, Friday, February 17th at Noon and a reception will follow at Boxing Donkey Irish Pub in Roseville from 2pm-4pm.
