

James Benjamin Bryars, 88 of Roseville, California, passed away peacefully at his home from complications caused by Cancer on May 1, 2022.
The rosary service will be held at 10:00 am and the funeral service will be held at 10:30 am at Lambert Funeral Home on Friday, May 13, 2022. Father Innocent Subiza of St. Clare will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at 1:15 pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Lambert Funeral Home.
James was born in Raritan Arsenal, New Jersey on October 17, 1933. He was the younger of two born to Lillian Marie and James Everett Bryars. He graduated with a Masters in Psychology.
James was married to Joan Bryars on September 7, 1957; they were married 60 years. The love James had for Joan was the most fierce and lasting of them all.
James proudly served in the Air Force as a Lieutenant Coronel for 20 years, and he served his country in the Vietnam War. He traveled the world while in the Air Force with his favorite place being Hong Kong. He lived in many different places, including Madrid, Spain while in the military with his family.
After he retired from the Air Force, he worked as a Director at Continental Airlines and COO of Chromalloy Aviation Company until retiring in 1995.
He will be especially remembered for his quick wit, spirit of adventure, and the tenaciousness that allowed him to achieve top rankings in many diverse endeavors.
He is survived by his Sons, Jim (Cindy) Bryars and Scott (Tracy) Bryars, Daughters, Sue (Gerald) Ketchum and Kathy (Pat) Lahr, grandchildren, Joe, Paul, John, Mark, Christy, Jim, Brittany, William, Andrew, Mary, Nephews, John, Tommy and Danny, Nieces, Laurie and Ann and other loving family members and friends.
James is preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister.
