

In the late 1970’s Joanne, with her former husband Charles Gibson, Doctor of Chiropractic designed and built what was the largest estate in Placer County at the time. On this stately property they established the world renowned Gibson Arabian Stud horse ranch, which at its peak was the home to many National Champion Egyptian Arabian horses. In addition to her love of horses, Joanne was also showed championship Commodores. Joanne held a degree in Executive Fashion Arts and Bachelor of Science and as a young woman achieved the admiration of her profession through her prize winning designs.
Born Joanne May Nichols, she was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents Demetrious and Jenny. Joanne is survived by her children Christopher (Trisha) Gibson and Rachele (Richard) Ely and her loving granddaughters Tiffany, Madison and Jennifer.
Friends are invited to a visitation at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Boulevard, Roseville on Wednesday, October 5, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 6 11:00 am at Fair Oaks Cemetery 7780 Olive Street, Fair Oaks. Remembrances can be made to your favorite charity in Joanne’s name.
