Kim was born on April 29, 1957; she passed away peacefully on August 19, 2012, surrounded by family and friends after a four year courageous battle with breast cancer. Kim had been hospitalized on July 4th after suffering seizures but made it home and spent another month with her family and friends with the assistance from Sutter Hospice and the wonderful care of our Fijian caregivers. Kim was preceded in death by her mother Betty. She is survived by her husband and soul mate, Henry Ogg, siblings John Peterson (Nikki), Sue Moore (Jeff), Bunny Lipinski (Ken), Janey Fichtner (Jim), and niece Amber Guy (Rick). She will always be missed and loved by her large Italian family of aunts and cousins in the greater Boston area. Kim had loving friends from coast to coast but special mention must be made to her extended family at Sacramento Metro Fire District, CDF (CalFire) and the CA Housing Finance Agency. Kim led a very full and active life. She loved and was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, canner, gardener and photographer. She was a baseball fan (River Cats, Giants, and Red Sox). She and Henry loved to travel and did so extensively. She loved the tropics and was fortunate to enjoy Hawaii, South Pacific, and the Caribbean repeatedly. They also loved New England and regularly enjoyed the eastern seaboard and Cape Cod. Kim was a hard worker and perfectionist in her personal and professional life. She spent 35 years with the State of CA working at CDF and CalHFA, where she made many lifetime friends. All of us will miss her fantastic smile, quick wit and sparkling blue eyes. Her ever positive attitude and kindness will forever be an inspiration.
