Mary Ethel Barnett-Tenold

Mary Barnett passed away peacefully on October 1, 2017 at the age of 97. Mary was born in Ely, Nevada on June 15, 1920 to Ethel and Robert Blair. Ethel relocated her family to Roseville, CA in 1923 shortly after being widowed. Mary graduated from Roseville High School and went onto Sierra College. She then hired out for the Southern Pacific Railroad working there until her retirement in 1985. She was married to David J. Barnett and had three children. Mary was widowed in 1976 and then remarried in 1998, at the tender age of 77. She enjoyed eight-years with her second husband, Gordon Tenold who passed away in 2006. She is survived by her three children, Cheryl Tibbits, Blair Barnett, and Bill Barnett. Mary enjoyed golf, bowling, and pool as well as traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by her entire family including three grandson, two great grand-daughters and a great grandson, and two great-great-grand-daughter. There are many nieces and a nephew who will also remember her fondly. As a family we enjoyed the many hours spent with her and will miss her infectious laugh and enthusiasm for life. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Chris and Helen who helped, care for, and laughed with our mother in the months prior to her death. Private family graveside services will be held.
