

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Raul R. Rodriguez Sr., who left this world on August 13, 2025, in Sacramento, California at the age of 78. Born in Distrito Central, Francisco Morazan (Tegucigalpa) Honduras on December 10, 1946, Raul’s journey was one filled with hard work, deep love, and a spirit that touched everyone who knew him.
Raul was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Oralia P. Mendoza and Manuel Rodriguez, as well as his brother, Julio Rodriguez. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lupe T. Rodriguez, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and love. He leaves behind his three children—Gina Ledesma, Raul Rodriguez Jr., and Erika Rodriguez—who will forever carry his love in their hearts. He also leaves behind his cherished son-in-law, Joel Ledesma, and six treasured grandsons: Carlos Rodriguez, Alex Maestas, Daniel Ledesma, David Ledesma, Julian Cantu, and Jonathan Cantu—all of whom brought him endless joy and laughter.
Raul is also survived by his siblings, Jose Rugama and Ligia McCluen, as well as his dearly loved nephew and nieces: Arnold Rugama, Camille Moreno, Cynthia Gause, Alex Rugama, Nicole McCluen, and Sean McCluen. Each of them carries with them the gift of his love, his laughter, and the bond of family he so deeply valued.
Raul lived a life guided by dedication and resilience. He built a long-standing career as a skilled TV technician, later transitioning to various positions within the local government before retiring. Known for his strong work ethic and determination, Raul provided an inspiring example of commitment and pride in his work.
Beyond his career, Raul’s true passions brought life and warmth to all who surrounded him. He had a deep love for music, dancing, and creativity—his home filled with record players, reel-to-reels, cassettes, and CDs, all connected to the sound systems he took such pride in perfecting. Sharing music with family and friends was one of his greatest joys. With his grandsons, Raul’s playful side shone through; whether cracking jokes, watching cartoons, or simply being present, he reminded everyone that he remained forever young at heart.
Raul’s sentimental nature and affectionate spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was passionate in his views, caring in his actions, and always found joy in connecting with others. His presence will be remembered as a bright light filled with laughter, music, and love.
A funeral service to honor Raul’s life will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, California 95678.
Though Raul has left this earthly life, his love, humor, and music will continue to echo in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. His family and friends will hold his memory close, forever grateful for the joy he brought into their lives.
