Tim was born in Washington, DC on November 19, 1962, to the late Melvin Miller and Linda Jane Kik. He spent his early life in McLean, Virginia and then his teenage years in Thousand Oaks, California. Tim graduated with a double degree in Accounting and Political Economy/ Economics from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington. After college, Tim worked at the NASD (now FINRA) where he spent over 25 years. He also had a stint at the Pacific Stock Exchange and other companies doing regulatory compliance consulting. He spent over 37 years in the financial industry. Most recently, he worked part-time at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Livermore, California.
Tim moved to Livermore from Southern California in 1997 where he lived with his wife Del and where they raised their beloved daughter, Melinda.
Aside from his dedication and passion with his chosen career, Tim always gave his best in every task he is given (helping his mother with her affairs or as a board member of the HOA). On the fun side, Tim loved his sports- he is a loyal fan of the Dodgers and the Red Skins. Tim also enjoyed riding his Harleys and was looking forward to taking his new bike on a road trip.
Tim will be remembered for his loyalty and kindness to his family and friends and people he interacted with. He makes connections easily, and maintains those connections steadfastly. He made sure to send those holiday cards yearly to stay connected and goes out of his way to check on people. He truly impacted a lot of people because he went out of his way to show he cared.
Tim is survived by his loving mother, Linda Kik Miller, his wife of 27 years, Del Nicolas-Miller, his beloved daughter, Melinda Miller, his oldest brother, Duane Miller, his younger sister Andrea Parker and his loyal dog, Tiffany. He is preceded in death by his father Melvin Miller and older brother Jay Miller. Aside from his immediate family, Tim was loved and adored by his extended family: his ever-dependable Aunt Ruth, nephews, cousins, nieces and friends in all stages of his life.
