

Norman T. Manning, known to family and friends as Tom, passed away on September 29, 2014. Tom was born on May 12, 1931 in the Bronx, New York. He was the son of Joseph and Delia Manning immigrants to the US from Galway Ireland in the early 1920s. Tom grew up in Brooklyn New York in the parish of St. Teresa Avila. He was a star athlete excelling in both basketball and football. After High School, Tom served in the US Army during the Korean War.
In 1956 Tom became a New York City Police Officer and served for 22 years. In late 1956 Tom married Frances his wife of 58 years. Tom and Frances left Massapequa Park New York and moved to San Jose Ca in 1979 and they relocated to Rocklin Ca in 1993.
He was a devoted family man. He coached his children in youth baseball and football for over 10 years. Tom was a proud father, grandfather and devoted husband.
Tom is survived by his wife Frances, his children Tom, Ken, Barbara and John and John’s wife Danielle. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kyle, Brittany, Samantha, Brandon, Shannon and Ryan and other family members including Tracy and Barbara.
He will be missed and remembered by alumni and friends from the St. Teresa’s neighborhood in Brooklyn New York.
He was loved, respected and admired. Rest in Peace!
