Though I havent seen or spoken to you in over 30 years, memories of fun and laughter fill me. You sitting in our yard playing Boston on your guitar. All of us Townhouse kids were a giant family and the loss is tremendous. May God be with your beautiful family. May you rest peacefully.

Duane, The last few weeks were very trying times for us and your family, but we laughed till you couldn't laugh anymore, and made the best of it. You were a trooper through the very end, I thought you were gonna win this war my friend, but it wasn't mean't to be. The good Lord had other plans for you, Unfortunately for those of us who love you so dearly... I'll always cherish are younger years together, and are crazy trip to cedar point with Rick and Matt... I would do anything to have those simple,  carefree years back... I'm so grateful to have spent these last few weeks with you, and getting to know your wonderful mother, and family finally... Rest In Peace my brother, and give Mark a big hug from me! Cause I know he was there to greet you...  much love now and forever.....

For 32 years, Duane was like a brother to me and my best friend .  His love for life was amazing and his personality shined like the sun, drawing the attention of whoever was around him. Always confident with a positive attitude paired with determination and courage. He lived fearlessly and would go places and do things that would terrify most men and not even give it a second thought.  A kind, generous, thoughtful, loving man was Duane and even when angered, he never let hatred or malice corrupt his heart. Always forgiving and understanding, knowing his thoughts and opinions were his own, he still respected the opinions of others, even when in total disagreement . Through the years I witnessed many deeply personal aspects of his life and can honestly say it was an honor and privilege to have known him. Duane will be missed by many but the memories he left us with will live on for years in our minds and hearts until we are all reunited again. God bless you Duane ! God bless your Family and Friends ! Watch over us all as we continue to carry on in your absence and try to be better than we are today. Our lives here on this earth are short but if there is one thing I learned from you that stands out above all else is that it doesn't matter how things are today. Tomorrow will be a new day and yesterday was yesterday. It's all good. Love you Duane ! Thank you for just being you ! And thank you for always being there when I needed you the most. Never did I expect to see my dear friend at the hospital I work at, especially when you were the picture of health back in our early days working together at General Safety. Im proud to have taken part in your medical care &  still manage to share some laughs in between pain meds.  You were always a great person & good friend. I will miss you & your hearty laughter. Im so sorry we couldnt save you, you fought so hard for your children, sisters & your dear Mom,  who I love very much.  Welcome to the club of angels my friend. Love you, Karen

Duane my brother my friend. We've known each other all our lives & were more like brothers not just friends. My heart beats a terrible pain at the thought of never seeing you again. Although my mind is at peace knowing that you are not only no longer in pain but you are also with our Lord & savior. The fun & laughter we shared can never be replaced. Save a place for me because when I get there were starting an air band lol. I love you my brother. Until we meet again. :-)

Duane is the type of person that leaves an impression that cannot be forgotten.  He is disarming, loud, energetic, optimistic, exciteable, sensitive, compassionate, misunderstood, generous and much more.  He is a very complex person who knows what he wants and seeks it out with the drive of a steam locomotive.  Duane, you will be remembered as long as I continue to live and your zest for living will always be regarded as your greatest strength.  I am very saddened that you did not recognize the cancer growing within you, but I am very glad to have had the opportunity to know you and share in your unique zest for living.  Rest In Peace my good friend and watch over us from your new lofty perch.
