Elaine C. Howie, 86, of Roseville, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013. She was born to Marshall B. & Cecil M. (nee: Beasley) Walker on December 31, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan. She enjoyed her career as a salesperson with Korvette’s in Roseville and later joined the staff at Bob Evans Restaurant in Roseville where she became the oldest working employee!! Mrs. Howie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandsons sharing her passions for gardening, cooking and most of all creating arts and crafts with them.
Mrs. Howie is survived by her loving daughter, Laura (David) Hurlbert, devoted grandchildren, David (Maggie), Brian (Crystal) and Melanie Hurlbert; adoring great-grandsons David and Matthew Hurlbert. Elaine was pre-deceased by her husband of 22 years, Lyle J. Howie.
Visitation will be on Sunday, from 3:00 p.m. until time of service 5:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home – 27830 Gratiot Avenue, Roseville. The burial committal service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013, at Evergreen Cemetery, Detroit.
