George (the Buffalo) was born on September 23, 1941 in Detroit was the son of Gustav and Julia Schvarckopf. He is survived by his loving wife Doris of 30 years, step children Sue (Bob), Lori (Brian) , Kurt (Sabrina), sister Julia (Julius); and nieces and nephews, Lori (James) , Karen, Robert (Linda), Gus (Sue), Lori (Gary), Judy (Keith), Carl. George is preceded in death by his parents Gustav and Julia Schvarckopf; brother, Gus (Emma) Schvarckopf, and sister Elizabeth (Schvarckopf) Jones.
He graduated from John J. Pershing High School. George worked for 40+ years as a tool maker at General Motors before his retirement. He enjoyed playing Santa Clause at Christmas, taking quiet rides and having lunch along the water. And spending time up north at the summer cottage in Caseville. He was a gentle giant who loved animals, and wherever he went, always carried a pocket full of kind words which he spoke, an abundance of smiles which he gave, and a stash of $2 bills which he handed out to any good child.
Visitation will be 4-8PM Sunday, December 12, 2021, A Funeral Monday 11AM at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit.
