Born in 1942, Jim was the son of Edward Hauser and Bertha (Dupont). Upon his father's remarriage, Wilda (Ellis) Hauser became the mother who raised him and siblings Nancy Schreier, Janice Stillin, and Gail Rhaesa. Edward, Wilda, Nancy & Donald Schreier and Janice Stillin preceded him in death. Jim is survived by his wife Martha (Eschtruth) Hauser of 42 years and children Eileen and Glen. He is also survived by Gail Rhaesa, John Rhaesa Jr. (Natalie) and Sean Rhaesa; Sandra Schreier (Dennis Ruzga), Karen Schreier; Maureen Stillin, Christine Stillin, and Danielle Lingard (William).
Jim passed away after a short illness at Henry Ford Hospital (Macomb) on June 29th, 2023. Jim graduated from Wayne High School in 1960. Immediately following graduation, Jim joined the United States Air Force (1960-1968) where he served initially overseas at bases in Japan and subsequently at home bases. After his honorable discharge, he pursued a career in electronics. Jim retired from St. John Hospital (1975-2009) as a BMET (certified BioMedical Electronics Technician). During retirement, Jim continued his favorite hobby of Ham Radio repair (call sign N8UQ/WA8HVE). He also taught himself stained glass, faceting gems, making clocks and learning watch repair, coffee roasting, and gardening. Jim had many interests, but his family was his joy. He loved to cook for his family especially his extended family when they came to visit.
A memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church 25700 Crocker Blvd. Harrison Twp, MI at 11am on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 with a luncheon following the service. Pastor Mascow will be officiating. There will be a private family inurnment ceremony at the National Cemetery in Holly, MI with military honors.
