Kathleen Ruth "Kathy" Battle (nee Cortez), of Roseville, Michigan, formerly from Chicago, Illinois, passed away on May 18, 2025 at the age of 75, with her son James McSherry and her cousin, Kathy Kline at her bedside.
Kathy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Battle; her son John (late Brenda) McSherry; parents Jose Oscar Cortez and Ruth Ann (nee Hlavaty) Hale.
She is lovingly remembered by her son James (Jill) McSherry; grandchildren, Steven (Amanda)McSherry and Nicholas McSherry; sisters, JoAnn (Robert) Metzler and Dr. Denise (Robert Sorpassa) Hale; brother, Gary (Christine) Hale; nephews, Christian Sorpassa and Trevor Hale and nieces, Sara Sorpassa and Dr. Jordan Hale; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Kylie McSherry; and numerous cousins and friends.
May Kathy's memory bring comfort to those who knew her and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
