Mary L. Furno

Mary Lee Furno (nee: Ballou), age 80, December 29, 1930 – July 18, 2011. A lifelong resident of St. Clair Shores, Mary was the beloved wife of the late William. Devoted mother to Jeff (Linda) Zabel, Bill (Joyce), Dawn (Matthew) Mancina and Sharron (Amy Zmick). Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her daughter Ronalee Jenkins. Mrs. Furno was a 1949 graduate of Denby High School in Detroit and spent the remainder of her life working on her class reunion committee. She was an ever-present volunteer for the Lakeview Schools as well as many community projects. Mrs. Furno worked as a secretary for the Lakeview schools for 25 years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Grosse Pointe. Her passion was caring for her home and she loved to work. She also enjoyed spending time with her countless friends and taking part in activities at the St. Clair Shores Senior Center where she was a constant presence before her illness. She especially enjoyed her weekly appointments at the Joli Salon in St. Clair Shores. Memorial Visitation Thursday 10:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot, Roseville.
