Joe's grandma. I spent a Christmas with Mary many years ago when I dated her grandson. Lovely lady who made me feel welcomed. Glad to have known her. Keeping your memory alive. 

I remember spending many days at the Karwowski house in Detroit visiting my very good friend and her son, Mike, back in the 60's & 70's.  Mary (actually, I called her Mrs. Karwowski) always had a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye, and something friendly to say.  She took an interest in what was going on in your life and made you feel good.  My condolences to Mike, Beth, Russ, Mary, and Annie on the loss of your wonderful mom.  My condolences also to Diana and all the other spouses, grandchildren, and others who will miss her.

Please accept my condolences for the loss of your mother.  From what I've read about your mom it sounds like she was an active person who lived life to the fullest.  The heart your mom had for others is a unique gift that will serve as a memory for those who were close to her.  Her dedication to her children was evident.  She certainly did a good job raising you, Mike.

So sorry to hear of Mary's passing. We only met her that short day in 2012 but her spirit and wit and charm were remarkable. May she rest in peace.

"But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died,and their departure was thought to be an affliction,and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace." (Wis 3:13)

I am truly sorry to hear of the death of your dear Mother, my sweet friend.  She taught me how to play tennis and a myriad of card games.  Mostly, she taught me about love and friendship. I met Mary in 1942 in our first class at Providence Hospital nursing program.  They seated us in alphabetic order and McEwan and Murphy sat next to each other.

In the Spring of 1945, after completing our final year of nursing school, we decided that we needed to get out of town.  Mary, Mary Simon and I bought bus tickets for the furthest we could go with our meager savings.  We ended up in Tybee Island near Savannah SC for a wonderful week.  (Note to Mike and Beth - many of the pictures that my daughter sent earlier this year are from that trip.). We enjoyed seeing the ocean for the first time, ate seafood, relaxed and laughed a lot.  This trip to Tybee Island is one that Mary and I talked about frequently in the 74+ years that we were friends and it's a wonderful memory of a remarkable friendship.

I'll miss you, my friend.

I was sorry to learn of your Mom's passing, Beth. From our days together at DHS, I can now see where you came by your lovely personality and compassion for others. I did not know your Mom was a Registered Nurse, and perhaps she was your influence for following the same career path. I will keep you and your family in my prayers as you lay your dear Mother to rest. God Bless

Mary Karwowski...such a special person...one of my Mother's best friends and always remembered by the Lakewood Nimmons Family as well with her husband, Rich, as among the most influential persons in Michael Nimmons's boyhood. Thank you for your gracius smile, always positive energy and deep caring sharing. Thank you for sharing your advice in some of my difficult moments. Your life celebration echoes in so many others, your children, granchildren, great-grandchilderen and friends and acquaintences you touched along your lifetime.

I regret that we could not have met one more time here on earth. May your spirit continue  to flourish in your family as you celebrate in Our Lord's Heavenly Party. Blessed are you for you made such a difference for many of us over the years.

It is with great sorrow, we bid you farewell. You raised a magnificent son in Michael. He enjoys so many travels, just like you! Your family's excellence is because of you!!

It's apparent that Mary Karwowski was the source for her children's strength, resilience, and wit.  A strong woman, she did what she wanted and spoke the truth directly yet in such a way that individuals felt charmed, not alienated--a rare gift. Her zest for life was also inherited.  She loved to sing, to travel, to play golf, but most of all she loved her  children and grandchildren.  I had the pleasure of witnessing her pride in the accomplishments of Michelle and Kyle.

What a fantastic, colorful lady who was always ready to tell a story or two. She was always very sweet and cordial to us, and we will miss seeing her at Beth's gatherings. She will be sorely missed by her family.

What an amazing woman! Our love, thoughts and prayers to all.

My dearest sister, Mary, I'll miss our wonderful times together, the many talks we had when we would both laugh so hard. We shared a special bond that only sisters share. I will miss you every day of my life till we see each other again when God calls me home too.

Aunt Mary, an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, had such a hardy laugh telling her wonderful stories and loved her family and friends as they loved her. I am blessed to have been a part of her amazing life.
