Michael J. Southerland

Michael J. Southerland, 57 of St. Clair Shores, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at home. Mike was a 1973 graduate of Lakeshore High School in St. Clair Shores. After high school Mike became a licensed beautician. Later he joined the family business: J.C. Refrigeration. Mike had a passion for history, particularly the Civil War era. He was a fan of #20 Tony Stewart when Tony drove the Home Depot car. He enjoyed "on-line" poker and poker "in person" with family and friends.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Sharon. He was the devoted son of Juanita and the late J.C. Southerland. Dear brother of Wally (Karol) Southerland and Rick (Laura) Southerland. Dear uncle of Perry Southerland and step-father of: Craig (Renee) Lanzon, Eric Lanzon, Chris (Nilsa) Lanzon and Marc (Emily) Lanzon, Seven grandchildren, Yesenia, A.J., Lucas, Cristina, Austin, Zack and Alex; and one great-grandchild: Isabella Willis also survive. Visitation Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home – 28433 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
