Thelma Jeane (McCormick) Murrell, age 96, of Southgate, MI, died Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Arden Court in Sterling Heights. Thelma was born April 10, 1923 in Detroit, MI to the late William & Pearle (Gilbert) McCormick. She will be sadly missed by her Partner Arthur V. Hogan, her sister-in-law Laura McCormick, nieces and nephews; David (Jackie) Byram, Beverley (Charles) Mason, Nancy (Charles) Holland, Linda Styczynski and 18 other grand nieces and nephews and of host of great-great and great great great nieces and nephews.
Thelma was a kind, caring wonderful soul. She enjoyed Politics and Woman's Rights & Business. In 1962 she was a founding member of The Woman's Economic Club, now known as Inforum Michigan. She was a Past President of Down River Democrats, an Officer of NOW-National Organization for Women and co-founder of The Humanist Club of Metro Detroit. She also was a great organizer for the big Family Reunions.

A Funeral Service will be held 10AM Friday, July 12 at Kaul Funeral Home-Roseville. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8PM with a 6PM service. Burial to follow Services in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Detroit.
