He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, June (Fenner) Brinkman; loving father of Keith, Mike (Renee), Dan (Annemarie) and Kathy. Loving Grandpa of Heather, Heidi, Karlie, Sarah, Alex and Alyssa. Loving Great Grandpa of Dylan and Caden. Pre-deceased by his brother Don and his sister Carol. He was born and raised in Michigan, the son of Walter and Anna (Ludwig).
He served in the Navy from April 1952 through April 1956. After serving his country, Walter went to work for Chrysler Missal Plant and after that he worked for 30 years at Grossmanknowling Photo Lab. Has was also a Reserve Officer for Warren Police for a period of time then moved over to a Reserve Macomb County Sheriff.
Walter was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, American Legion and Fraternal Order of Police. Played golf until the age of 85! Avid motorcycle rider for 30 years and always dreamed of getting his Goldwing one day to travel the country. Professional camper from 1956-2018 and had a passion for horses.
Walter will be dearly missed by his loved ones and everyone that knew him. Rest in Peace.
Visitation will be Friday, March 13, 2020 from 2 pm until 8 pm, American Legion service at 6 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave.; Roseville. Additional visitation will take place at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 8129 Packard Ave., Warren 48089; Saturday March 14, 2020 from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Service 11 am. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
