Alberto Luigi Borea, age 94, of Alpharetta, GA passed away peacefully on 5/22/22. Alberto was born to the late Angela Cortez and the late Giovanni Battista Borea of San Remo, Italy. He is preceded in death by his parents along with his brother, Marco, and late wife, Caryl. His memory will be cherished by his wife, JoAnn Borea, his daughters, Elena and Michelle, his stepdaughter, Annie, and his grandchildren: Lyndsey, Kacey, Nicholas, and Anthony.
Having survived his family after WWII, he proceeded to travel throughout the Americas to continue his engineering education and gain practical knowledge in his field by helping create sustainable water supplies for communities in need. As a young adult, Alberto attended several prestigious colleges including the University of Edmonton, the University of NM, Columbia University, and the University of Queensland where he ultimately received his Doctorate in Engineering. He later entered a career in Structural Engineering, where he worked for several engineering companies, and eventually became a professor in Engineering and Mathematics.
Outside of his academic pursuits, he was a gifted self-trained artist with a bit of a mischievous streak, always playing tricks and pranks on his loved ones. He was a lover of Italian soccer, classical music, and all things Mickey Mouse; but above all else, he was a fierce supporter of his family. He would always emphasize the importance of continued education, truth of self, and protecting the ones you love.
