Alma was a loving mother, grandmother, and matriarch whose life was defined by resilience, hard work, and devotion to her family. As a single mother and survivor of both lung and breast cancers, Alma faced life’s challenges with quiet strength and determination. She spent most of her life in Tallahassee, Florida, where she raised her children and built lasting friendships. However, the last fourteen years of her life were peacefully spent with her daughter Marilyn and family, falling in love with North Georgia.
Throughout her working years, Alma was employed for a time by the State of Florida, but she spent the majority of her career as a customer service professional in the dry cleaning industry, a career she approached with pride and a strong work ethic.
She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Smith (Terry) and Belinda Tennyson (Rick); her sons, Dennis Craig Bell, Kenneth Roger Bell (Kara), and Freddy Bernard Bell (Ramona); along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory and legacy of love.
A memorial service honoring Alma’s life will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Warhill Church in Cumming, Georgia.
Alma Johnson will be remembered for her enduring love for her family, her strength of spirit, and the many lives she touched throughout her long and meaningful life.
