Tony was one of ten children (with two brothers and seven lively sisters), raised in Princeton, NJ by Michel & Carolina Tamasi. He spoke fondly of growing up simply on a farm, as his family made the most of the Italian-American immigrant experience. With a constant smile, he never met a stranger, and he relished the opportunity to talk with anyone, anywhere, about anything.
Tony embraced suburban life, first in New Jersey and Colorado, and then settling in Marietta, GA in 1976. He supported a very happy home, where he introduced new friends to many unique family traditions, such as sausage making parties and how to flip a 16-dozen egg frittata. Tony worked at IBM for 35 years, taking early retirement at the ripe old age of 55. Outside of work, he spent time puttering around the house, woodworking, traveling, fishing, and most importantly being with family. He will be remembered and loved by many friends and family, including his wife of 58 years, Ruth Thompson Tamasi, his three children, Lisa (Tom Murphy), Michael, and Susan (Jamie Martin), and his grandson Anthony. He was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Clark. Feel free to raise a glass of cheap red wine (or scotch) in his honor.
