Bangjie Li

Bangjie was born on July 9th, 1926, in Beijing China. He married Lijun Li in 1955 and they had a wonderful 61 years together.

In the 1947, following in his father’s footsteps, Bangjie graduated at the top of his class from the prestigious Tangshan Jiaotong engineering University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He quickly became a rising star in the field. In 1956, he got promoted to Vice President of the Metallurgical Design Institute in Beijing where he led the group responsible for structural design of China’s industrial buildings, bridges, and railroads. During the cultural revolution in the 60s, Bangjie’s career suffered greatly as he was “sent down” to work in small cities and rural areas.

In 1981, at the age of 55 yrs old, he immigrated to the US. Realizing that he could not practice civil engineering without prior US experience, he studied and gained many civil engineering certifications, then tenaciously pursued and ultimately landed a job as a building inspector for the city of Los Angeles.

Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Atlanta Georgia and lived with his daughter Wei and her family. He doted on the grandkids and helped to raise them.

Bangjie was preceded in death by his father Linsen Li, sister Zhiming Li, mother Zhiyun Zhang, brothers Bangxian Li, Bangjun Li, Bangliang Li, Bangren Li, and wife Lijun Li. He is survived by his youngest brother Bangyi Li, oldest daughter Li Li (Yihua Zhou) and granddaughter Kexin Zhou (Ray Wang), and great grandchildren Serene Wang and Alvin Wang; youngest daughter Wei Eason (Michael Eason) and grandson Brian Lee Eason and granddaughter Kelly Lee Eason. He is also survived by many sister-in-law’s, nieces, and nephews across the world in places such as China, Hong Kong, USA, and Canada.

退休后，他移居佐治亚州亚特兰大市，与女儿薇薇一家住在一起。 他和妻子历君含饴弄孙，享受着天伦之乐。

走在邦杰去世之前有父亲李林森，妹妹李智明，母亲张志云，弟弟李邦贤，哥哥李邦俊，弟弟李邦仁，弟弟李邦良，妻子李历君。李邦杰健在的亲人有：弟弟李邦义,大女儿李莉（周益华) 外孙女周可欣（王雷）曾外孙Serene Wang和Alvin Wang，小女儿李薇（Michael Eason）和外孙Brian Lee Eason和外孙女Kelly Lee Eason。还有在中国，香港，美国，加拿大的弟妹，侄子，侄女，和外甥们
