Betty was born in Kelso, Washington, to parents John Keller and Irene Ronen. At age 16, she moved to Berkeley, California, where she met her future husband William John “Bill” Bell II. Married January 10, 1942, she became his bride and guardian angel for 73 ½ years. Almost 40 of those years were spent in Roswell, Georgia, where they were deeply involved in various volunteer activities, especially at Roswell United Methodist Church during the years from 1977-2001. From artwork to rock hounding to gardening to caretaking, she enthusiastically embraced every aspect of life and touched the lives of everybody she met. She truly brought joy to each and every one. As an avid and talented artist in a variety of genres, she particularly shared her gift of portrait and landscape paintings with many family members and friends. She left a legacy of love to all.
Betty is preceded in death by her son William John “Billy” Bell III, her parents and her brother Robert Keller. She is survived by her husband William John “Bill” Bell II; her brother Jim Keller (Jackie) of Longview, Washington; her daughters Barbara Payne (George) of Westminster, California and Bonnie Kish (Steve) of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren Deborah Hahn (Greg), John White (Jillia), Brian White (Wendy), and Sarah Kish; great-grandchildren Max and Maddie Hahn, Logan and Dylan White, and Scarlett White.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 2 at 11:00 AM at the Roswell Funeral Home on Mansell Road in Roswell.
