Bryan's presence was taken from us on March 8, 2011 when a plane he was testing crashed. Bryan touched so many lives with his free spirit in his many different walks of life. He lived everyday to its fullest and experienced so much in his 38 years of life on earth. His many friends in skiing, rodeo, skydiving, flying, construction and politics will miss his smiling face, cheerful disposition, infectious laugh and love for a challenge. Bryan’s life was an adventure and happiest when he being his own person be it skiing through the trees in the mountains, riding a bareback bronc, building something uniquely his, piloting a plane, or flying through "Blue Skies” skydiving. He had a heart of gold and would do anything to help a friend.
He lived by several mottos: “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!", "Get busy living or get busy Dying!", "Life is what happens while other people are making plans!", and “No Guts, No Glory.” Bryan was born in Asheville, NC, July 30, 1972. His grandparents (all deceased) were Ray & Geneva Hedrick and William & Nola Cox, all of Lexington, NC. Bryan graduated from Milton High School in 1990 and from Colorado State University in 1994 where he participated on the rodeo team. He was a member of the ski patrol, Professional Rodeo Association, United States Parachute Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He was a certified flight instructor and was very conscientious in teaching his students. He worked as a contract pilot flying skydivers, most recently in Connecticut. Skydivers have been his adopted family for the past several years. A memorial jump was done for him Saturday in Cedartown by his many skydiving friends. He is survived by his parents, Donald R. and Patricia C. Hedrick of Roswell, GA., his sister, Kimberly Gross, brother-in-law, Scott Gross, and his beloved nieces, Morgan and Jordan Gross and his beloved nephew, Ryan Gross all of Reno, Nevada, and his aunt, Alexandra Cox of Lexington, NC and his constant companion, Dally. Services will be held at Roswell Funeral Home at 11:00 Tuesday. His fun-loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
