Dave was born on December 18, 1937 to Burton & Peg Beamer Hazzard in Adrian, Michigan. He grew up in Coldwater Michigan, attended Coldwater High School, and later graduated from Western Michigan University where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. After college Dave served for three years in the US Army including assignments in Hawaii.
For most of his career, Dave lived in Louisville, Kentucky where he was an Operating Partner for American Industrial Rubber. In 1991, Dave was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He eventually retired to Forest City, North Carolina to be near his family.
Dave was preceded in death by sister, Patricia Hazzard, and parents, Burt & Peg Hazzard, and he is survived by sister, Linda Jane Hazzard, nieces and nephews, Hope & Michael Gricus, Josh & Anna Skudlarick, and Chad Skudlarick, along with many grand-nieces and nephews.
Dave was a Christian who enjoyed boating. He was a lifelong fan of the Michigan Wolverines.
