David Robert Hipple, 81, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 15, 1944, in Newcastle, Indiana, David lived a life defined by patriotism, resilience, and curiosity.
The son of Savannah Klipsch and Arthur Hipple, both deceased, David grew up in Indiana with a deep appreciation for hard work and service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army — a chapter of his life he often recalled with quiet pride. David attended Indiana University and spent his life as a certified geologist- he carried his card in his wallet even until his death .Later, David built a fulfilling career at AMEX and Georgia Tech, where his commitment to knowledge and innovation inspired colleagues.
In his personal life, David found profound joy in his marriage to the late Elizabeth Hipple. Together, they shared many adventures, laughter, and a love that endured through time. He also cherished the company of his sister, Donnis French; and brother, Tom Hipple both of whom survive him. While David and Elizabeth had no children of their own, they fiercely cared for their many nieces and nephews.
A man of many interests, David found solace behind a camera lens, grilling in the backyard, and traveling to new places. His compassion for animals led him to dedicate time to the Humane Society, and his patriotism drew him to donate to patriotic causes.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate David’s life at the Roswell Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The service will follow at noon, and burial will take place at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, at 2:30 p.m.
A gathering with refreshments will conclude the day’s remembrance.
